We are more than an organic skincare brand. We are strong wahine who support other strong wahine, and that is why I, Chelsa wanted to start the Wahine Support Group.
What is the Wahine Support Group?
It is wahine against domestic violence. This was something I had searched for myself.I found there were no resources of support here on the Big Island...no one I could simply talk to about what I was going through.
As a victim of domestic violence, I know what it's like to not have anyone to turn to. To feel isolated from my family and to feel like a prisoner in my own home.
What if I told you we have a Wahine Support Group? A safe place where there is no judgement, a place to figure out what you're going through, a place to just share your emotions, a place of sisterhood that can relate to you without the judgement.
Why a support group?
To form a safe space where women can come together for support, to collect resources and to help women regain the confidence to put an end to the domestic violence.
What is domestic violence?
Often times when people hear domestic violence, they imagine physical abuse. However, domestic violence can be emotional and psychological abuse as well.
Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetuated by one intimate partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, psychological violence and emotional abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically; however, the one constant component of domestic violence is one partner's consistent efforts to maintain power and control over the other.

It's an epidemic. Here are some important facts:
- In a single day Hawaiʻi, domestic violence programs served 505 victims.
- 41% of Hawaiʻi domestic violence programs reported being underfunded, understaffed or both.
- 1 in 7 women Hawaiʻi has been raped in her lifetime.
